World Champion Neff grazed win in Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup’s stage 3 in Czech Republic clinching second in the Elite Women’s category. Marotte third in the men’s race
The second place claimed by Jolanda Neff (KROSS Racing Team) and the third conquered by Maxime Marotte (Cannondale Factory Racing) ended in style the Northwave weekend in Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup’s stage 3 in Nové Mesto na Morave (Czech Republic).
24 hours after Sina Frei’s win (Team Ghost Factory Racing) in the U23 Women’s category, on Sunday May 27th the World Champion Neff, winner last week in Albstadt (Germany), grazed the second success in a row in the Elite Women’s race in Nové Mesto na Morave (Czech Republic). Equipped with Northwave Ghost XC shoes, the 25-year-old Swiss athlete crossed the finish line behind Danish Annika Langvad after a superb duel. Pauline Ferrand Prevot completed the day’s top-3. Langvad leads the GC with 798 points, ahead of Neff (760) and Ferrand Prevot (586).
In the men’s race, Marotte conquered the third place with a very regular race behind the winner, World and Olympic Champion Nino Schurter, and New Zealand’s Anton Cooper. Three more Northwave bikers occupied the places from fifth to seventh: Cannondale Factory Racing’s Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini and European Champion Florian Vogel (Focus XC Team). In addition, Marotte conquered the second overall place with 573 points behind Schurter (780). Third position for Dutchman Mathieu Van der Poel (535).
