Florian Vogel, Maxime Marotte, Manuel Fumic and Andrea Tiberi gave Northwave a wonderful four-of-a-kind in the Elite Men’s race of “Milano - La Montagnetta”, Internazionali d’Italia Series’ round 2, in Milan’s Monte Stella Park, on Sunday March 12th.
The 35-year-old Swiss biker of Focus XC Team, equipped with Northwave Extreme XC shoes and Extreme Tech Plus socks, outdistanced his opponents in the final part of the race, preceding on the finish line the Cannondale Factory Racing duo: French Marotte claimed the second place ahead of his teammate Manuel Fumic. In addition, another Northwave’s rider, Italian Andrea Tiberi (Team NOB Selle Italia), finished fourth.
Vogel, Marotte and Fumic lit up the second stage of the Internazionali d’Italia Series (Northwave is one of the challenge’s main sponsor) in the first laps together with Marco Aurelio Fontana, slowed by a puncture. Nevertheless, the Italian athlete maintained the overall leader jersey realized by Northwave Custom Project, as well as all the leader jerseys of the challenge.
In the Women’s race won by Pole Maja Wloszczowska, the Northwave athletes occupied the places from second to sixth in the stage’s classification. Behind the winner, Alessandra Keller (Radon XC Team), finished second ahead of the UCI World’s #1 Jolanda Neff (Kross Team), Kathrin Stirnemann (Radon XC Team), Tanja Zakelj (Unior Tools Team) and Helen Grobert (Cannondale Factory Racing).
