Northwave celebrated an amazing closing day of the Mountain Bike season, conquering the overall win in two of the most prestigious challenges in the World: MTB Bundesliga and Swiss Bike Cup.
Sabine Spitz clinched victory in MTB Bundesliga’s last stage in Freudenstadt (Germany): WIAWIS Bike Pro Team’s athlete equipped with Extreme XC shoes crossed the finish line with 10 seconds of advantage on another Northwave’s biker, Austrian Lisi Osl (Ghost Factory Team), claiming the overall success in the home challenge for the third time in his career. French Sabrina Enaux completed the day’s podium 1:40 behind the day’s winner.
Reto Indergand (BMC Mountain Bike Team) defended the leadership in the Swiss Bike Cup’s GC from the assault of Nino Schurter, finishing sixth on Lugano’s finish line after a consistent performance. The 25-year-old Swiss athlete totalized 344 points against the 335 points of the World Champion, as Titouan Carod grabbed the stage win ahead of Gerhard Kerschbaumer and Lukas Flueckiger. Fifth place for Northwave’s Mathias Flueckiger of Radon Factory XC Team.
In the women’s race, Northwave achieved a wonderful one-two with Alessandra Keller (Ghost Factory XC Team) and the World Champion Jolanda Neff (Kross Racing Team), whilst Irina Kalentyeva placed third. In the overall standings, Keller, Linda Indergand (Focus XC Team) and Kathrin Stirnemann (Radon Factory XC Team) finished third, fourth and fifth respectively totalizing 300, 300 and 296 points, as Sina Frei (350 points) conquered the final success ahead of Russian Kalentyeva (321).
Further good news for Northwave from Gimondibike, in Italy: Maria Cristina Nisi clinched victory ahead of Chiara Teocchi and Lisa Rabensteiner (Focus XC Team).
