Every discipline has its demands, and its style – and riders know this very well. All mountain cycling fashion has become more and more characterized and popular over the years, a statement from an offroad movement that found its own path away from the cross-country circuits.
After developing in recent years one of the most extensive and well-rounded shoes collection for All Mountain and Enduro, Northwave put its apparel designers at work with the very same philosophy: building a collection expressly conceived and tailor-made for All Mountain, and capable to meet the demands of different kinds of riders – from the most daring and performing to those simply looking for more relaxed-fitting, casual looking cycling apparel.
Starting from the most exterior layer, Northwave has designed two different Enduro jackets – one Hard Shell, one Soft Shell. Enduro Hard Shell represents the higher degree of protection, even in case of unfavorable weather, with its 3-ply main fabric with a windproof H20 membrane with up to 10,000 mm waterproof protection.
Those looking for a softer and more elastic garment will go for Enduro Softshell Jacket, whose main 3-ply brushed fabric with a windproof membrane will keep the rider sheltered from cold air.
Both Jackets are also available in a Woman-dedicated version.
Realized in fast-drying 110g breathable fabric, Trail 2 is a soft-touch jersey with a loose fit, but whose overall look and feel is clearly inspired to the more traditional mountain bike jerseys – with its 16 cm zip and the two zipped pockets with integrated microfiber glasses wipe.
Even Edge – both in its short and long sleeve versions – features the same 110g super soft fabric, whilst its sleeves’ fabric is covered with microscopic pores for standout breathability. The crewneck lined with sweatband and the loose fit clearly wink to a more casual and boogie-cut style, as do its graphics.
Similar cut and fit, but different materials for the two versions of the Enduro jersey. The long-sleeve Enduro jersey’s fabric is covered with microscopic pores for first-rate breathability. The short sleeves version is realized with a super-soft, lightweight polyester fabric treated to ensure a lasting moisture-wicking effect for faster drying. Enduro short sleeves’ colorful graphics and designs will be the choice of those who prefer a more unconventional look.
Trail 2 short sleeves and Enduro short sleeves are also available in the WMN version for ladies, whilst Edge WMN is proposed in the peculiar ¾ sleeves version.
Who is after the maximum freedom of movement, to go with extreme breathability, will find its perfect match in Northwave’s Domain Race Baggy. The 4-way stretch fabric with laser cut vents and the semi-loose fit allow an ideal adaptation to the rider’s motion, with the DWR treatment to shelter from mud and spray. Additionally, the heat-sealed side and bottom legs reduce friction points and increase the overall comfort.
Same 4-way stretch fabric and DWR treatment, but with a loose fit, for the Edge Baggy. Compared to Domain, Edge is meant to meet some of the typical demands of those riding out of competition – starting with storage room. Indeed, Edge boasts two zipped side pockets, an extra pocket for a mobile phone, and a zipped cargo pocket on the lower left leg.
Those looking for weather, water and mud protection will lean towards the Frontier H2O Baggy, whose 2.5-ply main fabric has a windproof H2O Flex membrane with up to 10,000 mm waterproof protection, whilst its four-way stretch allows superior freedom of movement. Frontier H2O also stands out for its capacity to dry faster, thanks to the multi-award-winning P4Dry™ printing process combined with S.Café® technology.
The Escape Baggy provides a practical technical garment for those who are looking for a simple, yet efficient solution for their leisure rides: the 2-way-stretch fabric with 3D reverse ensures breathability and freedom of movement, whilst the two open front pockets plus two back pockets with Velcro definitely prospect as valuable assets on long days on a bike.
The line is completed by the Outcross bibshorts and inner shorts – both characterized by the highly supportive M130 Pad and realized in breathable and elastic 3D mesh fabric.
Also available in a Woman-dedicated version are Edge and Escape baggies, and Outcross inner short, whilst the line is integrated by the Sport WMN inner short.
