Pasqualon gets taste for win, stage and lead in Luxembourg

Wanty-Groupe Gobert and Northwave’s rider claimed the second success in a row and the Tour of Luxembourg’s GC leadership. Cosnefroy runner-up at Boucles de la Mayenne. Brennauer, third, confirms the lead at Thüringen Ladies Tour

Northwave’s Andrea Pasqualon (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) celebrated for the second day in a row at the Skoda-Tour of Luxembourg. After claiming the stage 2 on Friday June 1st, the 30-year-old Italian rider took the stage 3 victory (Eschweiler - Differdange 163,8 Km), on Saturday June 2nd.

Equipped with Northwave Extreme RR shoes and Extreme Air socks as all the Wanty athletes, Pasqualon outsprinted a handful of 10 riders, conquering the lead in the GC and Points Classification. Behind the Italian, seeking the best shape in view of the Tour de France, Frenchman Angelo Tulik placed second ahead of Dutchman Nick Van der Lijke.

Pasqualon leads the GC with 7” of advantage on Slovenian Jan Tratnik and 23” on German Alexander Krieger, with one stage to go.

U23 World Champion Benoit Cosnefroy finished second in Boucles de la Mayenne’s stage 2 (St. Aignan de Couptrain - Ré En Pail St. Samson, 172 Km), in France. AG2R-La Mondiale’s rider was outsprinted by Nacer Bouhanni, whilst Anthony Maldonado completed the day’s podium. Cosnefroy occupies the ninth overall place, 23 seconds behind leader Mathieu Van der Poel.

Lisa Brennauer of the Team Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling – entirely equipped with Northwave Extreme RR shoes – maintained the overall leadership at the Internationale Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour, in Germany, after the stage 6 (Gotha - Gotha, 142 Km). The former ITT World Champion grabbed the third place behind Alice Barnes and Elena Cecchini.

Brennauer leads with 7” of advantage on Dutch Ellen Van Dijk and 26” on Italian Elena Cecchini, in view of the German race’s last stage, a 18,7 Km-time trial in Schmölln.
