Two wins in three days for Selle Italia Guerciotti’s athlete: Cross della Vigilia in Lurago d’Erba (Como, Northern Italy) and Gran Prix Luzern (Switzerland)
Gioele Bertolini spent a Christmas full of satisfaction, celebrating two wins in as many cyclo-cross competitions. Equipped with Northwave Ghost Pro shoes and Skeleton gloves, the Selle Italia Guerciotti 23-year-old rider conquered the Cross della Vigilia in Lurago d’Erba (Como, Northern Italy), on Monday December 24th and the Gran Prix Luzern, on Wednesday December 26th in Lucerne (Switzerland).
In the home race, Bertolini preceded another Northwave rider, his teammate Stefano Sala, whilst Luca Cibrario completed the podium. In Switzerland, “Gio il Bullo” crossed the finish line in first place, ahead of Swiss Lars Forster (+30”) and Czech Emil Hekele (+1’01”).
On the Boxing Day, the Cyclo-Cross World Cup was back on stage, with Northwave youngster Jakob Dorigoni in the spotlight in the U23 race. In Heusden Zolder (Belgium), Selle Italia Guerciotti’s rider finished sixth, 1’13” behind winner Eli Iserbyt.
