At the 2018 UEC Track Junior & U23 European Championships in Aigle (Switzerland), Letizia Paternoster took three European titles: Elimination, Omnium and Team Pursuit (along with another athlete equipped with Extreme RR, Martina Alzini)
Six medals (4 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze) was Northwave’s final outome at the 2018 UEC Track Junior & U23 European Championships (August 21st-26th), in Aigle (Switzerland). Italy’s Letizia Paternoster confirmed her supremacy in the U23 category by securing three gold medals (Elimination, Omnium and Team Pursuit) and one bronze (Madison).
With her Northwave Extreme RR shoes, the Italian youngster preceded Clara Copponi (France) and Mylene De Zoete (Netherlands) in the Elimination Race, whilst in the Omnium challenge, the last event of the programme, the Points Race, she took the continental title ahead of Franziska Brausse (Germany) and Megan Barker (Great Britain). Paternoster’s third joy came from the Team Pursuit, where she smashed the opponents along with Elisa Balsamo, Marta Cavalli and another athlete equipped with Northwave Extreme RR, Martina Alzini, leading the Italian quartet at the European title, ahead of Great Britain and Germany.
Paternoster achieved another medal, the bronze in the Madison race with Elisa Balsamo, behind Russia and Great Britain, while Martina Alzini took the silver in the Individual Pursuit behind fellow Italian Marta Cavalli.
