Northwave rules at the Swiss Mountain Bike Championships

Mathias Flückiger claimed the title in the Men’s Elite race, whilst Jolanda Neff and Alessandra Keller took the success in the Women’s Elite and U23 categories respectively

The Northwave athletes have fulfilled the expectations at the 2018 Swiss National Mountain Bike Championships in Andermatt, bringing home three titles on Sunday June 24th.

Mathias Flückiger (Thömus RN Racing) clinched the National title in the Men’s Elite race preceding after an exciting duel another Northwave rider, European Champion Florian Vogel (Focus XC Team), whilst Andri Frischknecht completed the podium ahead of World Champion Nino Schurter. World Champions and eve’s favorite Jolanda Neff did not disappoint in Women’s Elite race (KROSS Racing Team), won with Ghost XC shoes ahead of three more Northwave riders: Ramona Forchini (Brunex Felt Factory Team), Linda Indergand (Focus XC Team) and Kathrin Stirnemann (Thömus RN Racing).

Northwave also sealed a one-two in the Women’s U23 race with Alessandra Keller (Thömus RN Racing) winner ahead of category’s World Champion Sina Frei (Ghost Factory Racing). Third place for Nicole Koller.

In addition, on Saturday June 23rd, Northwave’s Gioele Bertolini, Andrea Tiberi and Lisa Rabensteiner won the Italian Team Relay National Championships, leading the Focus Selle Italia Team in Val di Casies (Bozen, Northern Italy), together the teammates Zaccaria Toccoli and Greta Seiwald.
