Northwave on Germany’s throne with Fumic and Spitz

Austrian Osl, Hungarian Benkó and Slovakian Stevkova (the latter both in XCO and XCE) also claimed national titles. Pirard silver medallist in Belgium, Stepanova bronze in Czech Republic

Northwave took a full hand of victories and podium spots in XCO National championships on Sunday, July 23rd, with Extreme XC shoes shining in several European Countries. Manuel Fumic (Cannondale Factory Racing) topped the German National Championships' élite race in Bad Salzdetfurth in 1:16:37, with a 37-second advantage on Simon Stiebjahn and 57 on Georg Egger. Northwave equips also the queen and the runner-up of the German Championships' Women Elite race: Sabine Spitz (winner in 1:29:01) and Helen Grobert (Cannondale Factory Racing).

From Germany to Koppl, Austria, where Elisabeth Osl (Ghost Factory Racing) was crowned Women Elite's National champion, outdistancing Anna Spielmann and Nadja Heigl. Moving eastbound, élite Barbara Benkó (Focus XC Team) was gold medallist at XCO Hungarian Championships' in Zalaegerszeg.

Janka Keseg Stevkova (CK Epic Donay) scored the one-two winning the gold medal both in Slovakian National Champs' Women Elite XCO and XCE race in Banka Bystrica.

Alice Pirard (Merida Wallonie MTB Team) claimed the silver medal among Elite Women behind Githa Michiels at Belgian National Championships in Erezée. Karla Stepanova finished third in Czech National Championship's Women Elite race won by Katerina Nash in Brno. Pavla Havlikova was fourth.

The XCM bronze medallist Daniel Geismayr (Centurion Vaude), equipped with Extreme XC, secured the final win at Bike Transalp powered by Sigma, historical and prestigious international MTB event, together with teammate Hermann Pernsteiner. In the seventh and final stage, the Austrian duo could settle for the second position.
