Northwave leads the Swiss Bike Cup with Flückiger and Keller

Thömus RN Racing Team’s athletes finished second in the stage 3 in Solothurn (Switzerland). Zakelj runner-up at Grazer Bike Opening in Austria

Thömus RN Racing Team’s Mathias Flückiger and Alessandra Keller lead Swiss Bike Cup’s overall standings, in the Elite Men and Elite Women categories, respectively, after the first three stages in Monte Tamaro, Schaan and Solothurn. On Saturday May 5th, the athletes equipped with Northwave Ghost XC shoes claimed the second place at Bike Days Solothurn (C1). Flückiger crossed the finish line 17 seconds behind the World Champion Nino Schurter, preceding another Northwave biker, Reto Indergand (BMC Mountain Bike Team), while Alessandra Keller was preceded by German Elisabeth Brandau, breaking her winning streak started in Monte Tamaro and continued in Schaan.

Five more Northwave athletes placed from third to seventh, in the women’s race in Solothurn: Ramona Forchini (Brunex Felt Factory Team) completed the day’s podium ahead of Linda Indergand (Focus XC Team), fourth, Sabine Spitz (WIAWIS Bike Pro Team), fifth, Sina Frei (Ghost Factory Racing), sixth, and Kathrin Stirnemann (Thömus RN Racing Team), seventh.

In Swiss Bike Cup’s GC, Mathias Flückiger leads with 218 points ahead of Lars Forster (215) and Reto Indergand (205), as Alessandra Keller (280) precedes the U23 World Champion Sina Frei (195) and Léna Mettraux (160) in the women’s overall classification.

Tanja Zakelj (Unior Devinci Factory Racing) was runner-up at Grazer Bike Opening, in Austria, on Sunday May 6th. The 29-year-old Slovenian athlete, equipped with Northwave Ghost XC shoes, crossed the finish line behind the winner, Mexican Daniela Campuzano. Third place for Austrian Anna Spielmann ahead of Northwave’s Lisa Pasteiner (Ghost Factory Team).
