In Merksem (Belgium), Wanty-Groupe Gobert’s athlete sprinted to win ahead of his teammate De Decker. Caruso steps on Deutschland Tour’s podium in the final stage
Northwave and the Team Wanty-Groupe Gobert grabbed a beautiful success in the 93rd Schaal Sels, in Merksem (Belgium), on Sunday August 26th.
Equipped with Northwave Extreme RR shoes and Extreme Air socks, Belgian Timothy Dupont sprinted to win ahead of another Wanty athlete, Alfdan De Decker, while Christophe Noppe completed the podium.
Dupont gave Wanty-Groupe Gobert the tenth success in the 2018 season, enriched by four wins in 2.HC races, the two stage-wins and overall success conquered by Italian Andrea Pasqualon at the Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg and Odd Christian Eiking’s victory in Tour de Wallonie’s stage 3.
Northwave’s Damiano Caruso (BMC Racing Team) ended in style the Deutschland Tour, finishing third in the stage 4 (Lorsch - Stuttgart 207,5 Km), behind German Nils Politt and the overall winner, Slovenian Matej Mohoric. Caruso placed overall fifth, 26 seconds behind Mohoric, whilst Frenchman Guillaume Martin (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) finished ninth at +0:33.
