Northwave shines at Swiss Bike Cup with Neff and Keller

Double podium for Extreme XC in the Swiss challenge stage 6 in Basel. Reto Indergand, seventh in the men’s category, retained the overall leadership

The Swiss Bike Cup returned after two months with the stage 6 in Basel, where the Northwave bikers obtained prestigious results.

On Sunday August 20th, Switzerland’s Jolanda Neff (Kross Racing Team) and Alessandra Keller (Radon XC Team), equipped with Extreme XC shoes, finished second and third respectively, preceded by Sina Frei, leader of the challenge with 350 points ahead of another Northwave’s athlete, Linda Indergand (300).

Two more bikers supplied by the Italian brand, Kathrin Stirnemann (Radon XC Team) and Karla Stepanova (N1 Team), placed eighth and ninth. In addition, the Eliminator European Champion Stirnemann occupied the fourth overall place (234), 17 points behind Russian Irina Kalentyeva (251).

Reto Indergand retained the overall leadership in the men’s category placing seventh in Basel, as Samuel Gaze clinched victory ahead of Gerhard Kerschbaumer and Matthias Stirnemann. BMC MTB’s biker leads the GC with 284 points preceding the World and Olympic Champion Nino Schurter (278), with one round remaining, scheduled in Lugano (September 23rd-24th).

Yesterday, Saturday August 19th, Maxime Marotte (Cannondale Factory Racing) claimed the fourth place in Coupe de France’s last stage, in Monginévre, with his Northwave Extreme XC shoes. The French athlete crossed the finish line behind Jordan Sarrou, Stephane Tempier and Julien Absalon.
