For the second year, the Italian brand confirms its partnership with the euro-regional stage race, running from Arco to Innsbruck (April 16-20)
A year later a memorable first edition, Northwave renewed its partnership agreement with the Tour of the Alps, that took off on Monday April 16th from Arco, and will end on Friday April 20th in Innsbruck, after crossing Trentino, South Tyrol and Tyrol.
The euro-regional stage race has welcomed the top names in World cycling: from the 4-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome to Fabio Aru, from Thibaut Pinot to Miguel Angel Lopez.
2018 Tour of the Alps crosses the Euroregion from South to North: after the Garda Trentino opener and the first stage in Folgaria, the route follows through with the only uphill finish in Alpe di Pampeago, before entering in South Tyrol with the finish in Meran, and finally Tyrol with the last two stages in Lienz and Innsbruck. In the great finale, the athletes will face a section of the 2018 Road World Championships circuit.
For the second year in a row, Northwave designed the race’s four leaders jersey in its Custom Project atelier, at the company’s main site in Onigo di Pederobba, Italy, dedicated to custom apparel: fuchsia for the overall leader, green for the KOM, red for Intermediate Sprints and white for the Youth Classification.
The jerseys of the “Performance 2” line are characterized by raw-cut cuffs with dotted gripper to ensure an excellent fit, the main fabric with microscopic pores that provide great breathability and elasticity, and reflective inserts that ensure greater visibility in low-light conditions.
“Northwave and Tour of the Alps are driven by same passion and pursuit for excellence: this is clearly shown by the race’s meteoric rise in terms of quality and media interest – said Mauro Baldini, Northwave’s Communication Manager – At the international level, Tour of the Alps is recognized as en excellent event for its technical and organizational quality, and we believe that the euro-regional event represents a perfect showcase for our Custom Project, focused on quality and ‘made in Italy’ as fundamental values to establish itself at the top of the custom-made cycling apparel branch".
