In Plouec-L’Hermitage, Cannondale Factory Racing’s biker and Extreme XC interrupted Absalon’s 14-year-old domination. The Swiss star dominated in Montsevelier ahead of fellow Northwave rider Linda Indergand
Three National titles, in France and Switzerland, and eight medals in total: this is the balance of the Northwave’s MTB “line-up” in the first National Championships’ weekend.
Maxime Marotte and Jolanda Neff, equipped with Extreme XC shoes, claimed the National Champion’ jerseys in France and Switzerland, in the Men and Elite women categories respectively, on Sunday July 16th.
In Plouec-L’Hermitage, Brittany, Cannondale Factory Racing’s 30-year-old biked interrupted Julien Absalon’s 14-year-long domination, preceding Titouan Carod and Stephane Tempier, outdistanced by 13 and 23 seconds.
Jolanda Neff (Kross Racing Team) and Extreme XC dominated the opponents in the Elite women’s race of the Swiss Championships, staged in Montsevelier, crossing the finish line with a 2:15 advantage on Northwave’s Linda Indergand (Focus XC Team) and 3:54 on Corina Gantenbein. In the same race, the Italian brand claimed the fourth place with Kathrin Stirnemann (Radon XC Team), whilst her teammate Alessandra Keller finished second in the U23 category behind Sina Frei. Filippo Colombo (VC Monte Tamaro) conquered the national title in the U23 men's race preceding Simon Vitzthum and Vital Albin.
Northwave stepped on the podium in Switzerland also in the Men’s category thanks to Matthias Flückiger (Radon XC Team) and Florian Vogel (Focus XC Team), second and third behind Nino Schurter. The athletes equipped with Extreme XC gave a hard time to the Olympic and World Champion, crossing the finish line 13 and 16 seconds behind the winner.
More good news for Northwave came from Limburg: Anne Terpstra (Team Ghost Factory) claimed a prestigious second place in the Elite women’s race of the Dutch National Championships in Langgraaf, preceded by Anne Tauber.
