Northwave’s European Champion clinched third in the stage 8 of the Swiss race
UAE-Team Emirates’ Alexander Kristoff stepped on Tour de Suisse’s stage 8 podium (Bellinzona – Bellinzona 123 Km), on Saturday June 16th. Equipped with Northwave Extreme RR shoes, the European Champion claimed the third place in a bunch sprint, preceded by French winner Arnaud Démare, and Colombian Fernando Gaviria, as Aussie Richie Porte maintained the overall leadership.
The sprint’s encouraging outcome boosts the 30-year-old Norwegian spirit in view of the upcoming Tour de France, where he’ll be the UAE-Team Emirates fastest wheel in the sprints, to start with the opening stage that assigns the 105th Grande Boucle’s first yellow jersey.
In the 2018 season, his first with Northwave, Kristoff had conquered four wins so far: Tour of Oman’s stage 6, Abu Dhabi Tour’s opener and two one-day races, Eschborn-Frankfurt and GP du Canton d’Argovie.
