The Swiss rider equipped by Northwave preceded only by fellow Swiss Frei in the Women's Under 23 XCO race. Women’s Juniors: Lecomte and Bohe second and third with Northwave
The Northwave riders continue claiming prestigious medals at the European MTB Championships in Darfo Boario Terme, Italy, with ladies shining in first place. In the first day dedicated to XCO events, Swiss Alessandra Keller (Team Radon XC) was runner-up with Extreme XC in the Women's Under 23 race, with a 52-second gap from fellow Swiss Sina Frei and a 22-second advantage over Dutch Anne Tauber.
Keller herself had already brought Northwave on the highest step of the podium in the Team Relay Race, with the Swiss National Team that also included Elite Linda Indergand and Under 23 Filippo Colombo, all of them equipped with Extreme XC .
Junior Dane Caroline Bohe also stepped back on the podium as she did two days ago: after the runner-up placement in the Team Relay with Danish National team (also including Northwave's Under 23 Malene Degn), the 18-year-old Dane claimed a bronze medal in the Women's Junior XCO race. French Loana Lecomte, wearing Extreme XC as well, did even better, finishing second behind Laura Stigger.
Northwave’s riders have been incredibly successful so far in the European Championships: along with the medals brought by the Team Relay squads and today in the XCO, Extreme XC stepped on the top spot of the podium yesterday with Cross Country Eliminator European Champion Kathrin Stirnemann (Team Radon XC), who took her third Continental title in the specialty in her career after 2014 and 2015. Fellow Northwave rider, Dutch Anne Terpstra (Ghost Factory Racing), finished third.
