The Mountain Bike World Champion extends her golden stretch with a prestigious success in EKZ CrossTour’s stage 2 with Extreme XC ahead of another Northwave athlete, overall leader Havlikova. Zahner runner-up in the men’s race
Jolanda Neff keeps on impressing: the Mountain Bike Cross Country World Champion in Cairns (Australia) grabbed a beautiful win in EKZ CrossTour’s stage 2, in Bern (Switzerland), in her seasonal cyclocross debut, on Sunday October 1st.
Equipped by Northwave with Extreme XC shoes, the Kross Racing Team 24-year-old athlete preceded another rider supplied by the Italian brand, overall leader Pavla Havlikova (Kooperativa Cyclocross Team), whilst Lucie Chainel completed the day’s podium.
Czech Havlikova repeated the second place achieved in the opening round of the Swiss challenge, in Baden, totalizing 160 points, placing atop the overall classification ahead of Jasmin Egger-Achermann (125) and Magdalena Sadlecka (110).
In the men’s race, Northwave grazed the win with home favourite Simon Zahner (Team EKZ), second on the finish line behind Marcel Wildhaber. Corné Van Kessel was third. Zahner occupies the third place in the GC with 130 points behind leader Wildhaber (154) and Nicola Rohrbach (145).
Northwave celebrated a strong one-two in the Open Men race of Giro Italia Ciclocross’ opening round in Numana. Stefano Sala (Selle Italia Guerciotti) crossed the finish line ahead of Antonio Folcarelli (Race Mountain Folcarelli). Northwave is main partner and official jerseys’ supplier of the challenge.
