Jakob Fuglsang runner-up at Strade Bianche

Astana Pro Team’s Danish took a prestigious second place in Siena (Tuscany) with Northwave Extreme Pro

Jakob Fuglsang brought his Northwave Extreme Pro shoes on the Strade Bianche podium, on Saturday March 9th. Astana Pro Team’s Dane crossed the finish line in Siena (Tuscany, Central Italy) behind the winner, Julian Alaphilippe, whilst Belgian Wout Van Aert finished third.

Fuglsang forced the pace on the Colle Pinzuto hill together with Alaphilippe in the wheel and the group of the main rivals, including Van Aert, in pursuit.

The Belgian rider reached the escapees in view of the last kilometer, but Julian Alaphilippe launched the decisive attack on Santa Caterina hill, preceding in the iconic Piazza del Campo the Northwave rider, while Van Aert took third with a 0.25” delay.

Another Astana Pro Team’s rider, the Kazakh Champion Alexey Lutsenko, finished seventh at 1’04”.
