The UAE-Team Emirates Norwegian stepped on the podium with Northwave Extreme RR. Avila grazed win in Colorado. Fahlin overall second at Ladies Tour of Norway
Northwave stepped on the podium at the EuroEyes Cyclassics Hamburg, one-day race of the UCI World Tour calendar, thanks to Norwegian Alexander Kristoff, on Sunday August 19th. With his Extreme RR shoes, characterized by the XFrame® patented technology, the UAE Team Emirates athlete crossed the finish line in third place after an exciting sprint, behind Italian Champion Elia Viviani and Frenchman Arnaud Demare.
With 15 Km to go, on the occasion of the last time up the Waseberg hill, the 2017 European Champion tried to anticipate the bunch sprint together with 9 more riders. The bunch came back on the escapees with 5 Km to go, but Kristoff did not lose his temper, launching himself in the final sprint, closed in third position.
Northwave also grazed win in Colorado Classic’s stage 3 (Denver - Denver, 161,9 Km) with Colombian Edwin Avila (Israel Cycling Academy), second behind Dutchman Pascal Eenkhoorn, whilst overall leader Gavin Mannion completed the podium.
Three podiums on three stages and the second overall place: the Swedish Champion Emilia Fahlin of the Team Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling - entirely equipped with Northwave Extreme RR shoes - ended in style the Ladies Tour of Norway. Third in the last stage (Svinesund - Halden, 154 Km), Fahlin claimed the second place in the General Classification, 22 seconds behind Dutch Marianne Vos, ruler of the Norwegian race with 3 stage wins.
