Northwave’s 28-year-old athlete edged the “Ronda Extrema” in Riva del Garda (Northern Italy). Reto Indergand third in Heubach (Germany) in MTB Bundesliga’s opener
Centurion Vaude’s Daniel Geismayr claimed a beautiful win in the 2018 Rocky Mountain Bike Marathon, in Riva del Garda (Trento, Northern Italy), on Sunday April 29th, confirming himself as one of the best Marathon specialists in the World.
Equipped with Northwave Ghost XC shoes, the 28-year-old Austrian athlete edged the longest distance of the race, the “Ronda Extrema” (90,2 km), preceding on the finish line Italy’s Samuele Porro and Tony Longo, second and third at 1’48” and 2’24”. “I’m happy. It was a tactical race and I was careful in managing energy with the goal of attacking in the finale”, said the winner.
RETO INDERGAND THIRD IN MTB BUNDESLIGA OPENER
Swiss Reto Indergand stepped on the podium in MTB Bundesliga’s stage 1, in Heubach (Germany). The BMC Mountain Bike Racing Team’s athlete crossed the finish line in third place behind World Champion Nino Schurter and his teammate Lars Forster. Three more Northwave bikers entered the day’s top-10 in the men’s race, Marcel Guerrini and Florian Vogel (Focus XC Team) and Fabian Giger (Kross Racing Team), fourth, eighth and ninth on the finish line.
German Sabine Spitz (WIAWIS Bikes Pro Team) finished fourth in the women’s race behind winner Elisabeth Brandau; second place for Pole Maja Wloszczowska ahead of Ukrainian Yana Belomoina.
