Fuglsang keeps rising: runner-up at Fleche Wallonne

After placing third at Amstel Gold Race, the Northwave athlete of Astana Pro Team claimed a prestigious second place on the Mur de Huy with his Extreme Pro shoes

Third at Amstel Gold Race and runner-up at Fleche Wallonne: now, only victory is left on Jakob Fuglsang’s list at the Ardennes classics. The Danish rider hopes that Sunday's Liege-Bastogne-Liege can be the chance to move one more step higher on the podium.

In the meantime, on Wednesday April 24th, the Astana Pro Team athlete, equipped with Northwave Extreme Pro shoes, grazed win on the Mur de Huy, in Belgium, crossing the finish line behind Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe, whilst Italian Diego Ulissi finished third.

On the Mur de Huy, Fuglsang took advantage by the XFrame2® patented technology of his Northwave Extreme Pro, securing maximum power transmission on pedals, setting an unsustainable tempo for his rivals, with the exception of Alaphilippe. The French athlete claimed his second win at Fleche Wallonne, whilst Fuglsang achieved another valuable result in his top-level season.

In addition, Tuesday April 23rd, Northwave’s Jan Hirt (Astana Pro Team) was runner-up in Tour of the Alps’ stage 2 (Reith im Alpbachtal-Scena/Schenna, 178,7 Km), preceded by Russian Pavel Sivakov. Hirt occupies the second overall place, 8 seconds behind Sivakov, whilst Astana Pro Team leads the Team Classification.
