In the first race of Mountain Bike European Championships in Graz (Austria), U23 World Champion Sina Frei and Alessandra Keller led Switzerland to the silver medal behind Italy. Malene Degn and Caroline Bohe’s Denmark took the bronze
Northwave’s Sina Frei and Alessandra Keller gave Switzerland the first medal at the 2018 Mountain Bike European Championships (July 26th-29th), in Graz (Austria). On Thursday July 26th, the Swiss bikers equipped with Ghost XC shoes conquered the silver medal in the Team Relay, the opening race of the event’s programme, clocking in 1:23’32” together with teammates Alexander Balmer, Joris Ryf and Filippo Colombo.
The Swiss Team crossed the finish line behind Italy (1:23’18”), whilst the Danish squad led by Northwave’s Malene Degn and Caroline Bohe claimed the bronze medal with the time of 1:24’03”.
The U23 World Champion Frei was the leader of the Swiss Team, clocking a 17’14” time in her fraction, the best among women, leading an amazing comeback in the third fraction. In the last stint, Colombo came short of reaching Italian Zanotti, who crossed the finish line in first position.
