Northwave and Ghost Factory Racing’s athletes dominated the U23 Women’s race in Nové Mesto na Morave (Czech Republic). Fagerhaug maintained the overall lead in the U23 Men’s category
Sina Frei and Malene Degn of Ghost Factory Racing Team - entirely equipped with Northwave Ghost XC shoes – keep ruling in the UCI MTB World Cup among Under 23 Women, after another dominating performance in stage 3.
On Saturday May 26th, in Nové Mesto na Morave (Czech Republic), the U23 World Champion from Switzerland repeated the success claimed last week in Albstadt (Germany), preceding after a tight duel her teammate, Dane Malene Degn, winner in the opening round in Stellenbosch (South Africa). Behind the two Ghost Factory Racing bikers, Italian Marika Tovo finished third at 19 seconds.
In addition, Frei leads the overall standings with 250 points, ahead of her teammate Degn (220) and Brit Evie Richards (130).
In the U23 Men’s race, Petter Fagerhaug finished fourth with Northwave Ghost XC, behind Rumanian Vlad Dascalu, Swiss Filippo Colombo and South African Alan Hatherly. The Norwegian prospect, winner in Stellenbosch, maintained the overall lead with 190 points, ahead of Colombo (137) and Joshua Dubau (130).
Tomorrow, on Sunday May 27th, the athletes of the Elite categories (Women at 11.20 am CET, Men at 2.35 pm CET) will face the tricks of the Nové Mesto na Morave circuit. After the show of Albstadt, the World Champion Jolanda Neff (KROSS Racing Team) is one of the most awaits athletes in the women’s race, whilst Frenchman Maxime Marotte (Cannondale Factory Racing) will try to claim the success in the men’s category.
