Fortuneo-Oscaro’s 22-year-old rider equipped with Extreme RR shoes conquered the first GC leader jersey with a long escape. Antunes overall runner-up at Volta a Portugal after winning the queen stage
Tour du Limousin’s opening stage, 168 Km from Panazol to Rochechouart (France) rewarded the bravery oF Fortuneo-Oscaro's Elie Gesbert, 22. Equipped by Northwave with Extreme RR shoes, on Tuesday August 15th, the French rookie claimed the stage win after a long escape, preceding on the finish line the breakaway companion Flavien Dassonville, whilst Dutch Mathieu Van der Poel completed the day’s podium.
Gesbert conquered the first overall leader jersey, whilst another Northwave’s rider, Italian Danilo Napolitano (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) entered the day’s top-10, placing ninth with Extreme RR shoes and Extreme Air socks.
Further good news for Northwave from the Volta a Portugal: Manuel Amaro Antunes (W52/FC Porto) finished overall second, 1:23 behind winner, the teammate Raul Alarcon. The 26-year-old Portuguese rider conquered the queen stage in Guarda and the KOM classification.
