Dorigoni grazes Cyclo-cross World Cup win

The Northwave and Selle Italia Guerciotti youngster finished second in the U23 race in Tabor (Czech Republic) 

Northwave’s Jakob Dorigoni (Selle Italia Guerciotti) stepped on the podium in U23 Cyclo-Cross World Cup’s stage 2, in Tabor (Czech Republic), on Saturday November 17th. Equipped with Ghost XC shoes, the Italian Under 23 Champion claimed the second place, 11 seconds behind the winner, Brit Thomas Pidcock, whilst Frenchman Antoine Benoist finished third with the same time of Dorigoni.

After a strong start, Dorigoni fought for win with the British prospect in the first half of the race. In the finale, Pidcock launched the decisive attack, grabbing his first World Cup win in the 2018/2019 season. In the overall standings, Pidcock leads with 100 points, and the Italian athlete supplied by Northwave occupies the fourth place with 69 points, behind France’s Benoist (90) and Eddy Fine (72).

Next week, on Sunday November 25th, Dorigoni will face Cyclo-cross World Cup’s stage 3, to be held in Koksijde, in Belgium.
