The Northwave athlete took the overall leadership in the “Race of the Two Seas” after the Opening TTT won by BMC Racing Team in Lido di Camaiore
Damiano Caruso is the first overall leader of the 53rd Tirreno-Adriatico. The 30-year-old Italian rider, equipped by Northwave with Extreme RR shoes, was the first BMC Racing Team athlete to cross the finish line in Lido di Camaiore (Lucca, Centre Italy) in the opening 21,5 Km Team Time Trial, on Wednesday March 7th.
The Swiss squad clinched the win by clocking a 22’19” time at an average speed of 57,804 Km/h, preceding Mitchelton Scott and Team Sky of 4 and 10 seconds, respectively.
In the overall standings, Caruso precedes teammates Rohan Dennis and Patrick Bevin, as he hopes to be in the spotlights in the continuing of the first seasonal UCI World Tour event in Italy with his Extreme RR, the Northwave top range road shoes characterized by the XFrame® patented technology, that eliminates pressure points on the upper.
