2018 is more and more revealing as a breakout season for Italian Gioele Bertolini. After an encouraging final part of the Cyclocross season and an excellent start of the Cross Country year, “Gio il Bullo” claimed the overall win at Internazionali d’Italia Series, the most important Cross Country circuit in Italia and one of the most relevant in Europe, supported by Northwave as main partner and official jersey supplier.

On the occasion of Alpago Bike Funtastic (Saturday June 30th), Internazionali d’Italia Series’ fourth and final round, the Focus Selle Italia biker, equipped by Northwave with Ghost XC shoes, Skeleton gloves and Extreme Air socks, finished fourth after a late comeback. The result claimed in Lamosano di Chies d’Alpago (Belluno, Northern Italy) gave Bertolini the Internazionali d’Italia Series’ overall win in the Open Men category, ahead of his main rival Martin Loo, fifth on the finish line.

Another Northwave’s rider, Brazilian Henrique Avancini (Cannondale Factory Team), claimed the third place in stage 4, preceded by Italian National Champion Gerhard Kerschbaumer and fellow Italian Nadir Colledani.

Internazionali d’Italia Series’ overall winners - Bertolini (Open Men), Marika Tovo (Open and U23 Women), Alessandro Naspi (U23 Men), Simone Avondetto (JR Men) and Giada Specia (JR Women) wore the jerseys designed by the Northwave Custom Project atelier: “Performance Ultralight” for men and “Pro Jersey Woman” for women. Both models are characterized by excellent breathable properties, a hugely important asset for the riders in hot days like the one in Alpago. The dotted gripping bottom sleeves ensure a perfect wearability, whilst the reflecting inserts placed on the back ensure visibility even in low-light conditions. In addition, the “Performance Ultralight” jersey are characterized by a 3D construction, a must in terms of breathability, ideal for summer trainings thanks to its properties of moisture absorption and sweat expulsion.

Petter Fagerhaug (Lillehammer CK) took the Elite title at the XCO Norwegian Championships for the third time in a row. Equipped with Northwave Ghost XC shoes, the Scandinavian rider preceded on Lillehammer's finish line Martin Emil Siggerud ed Erik Hægstad.
