The Italian Cyclocross Champion’s jersey remains at Northwave: Gioele Bertolini (Selle Italia Guerciotti) managed to defend his Elite national title in Silvelle di Trebaseleghe (Padua) on Sunday January 8th, in the final race of the Tricolore event that had Northwave among its official partners.
21-year-old Bertolini achieved his first win with his new Yellow Fluo Northwave Extreme XC shoes, beating another Northwave rider, Marco Aurelio Fontana (Cannondale Factory Racing), while Luca Braidot (GS Forestale) was third. Bertolini i salso equipped with Skeleton gloves and Extreme Tech Plus socks.
“It was an exciting and contested race – Gioele said - with a hectic finale. Fontana was very strong, but in the last lap I managed to open a little gap that proved enough to secure the jersey".
Another Selle Italia Guerciotti rider, Jakob Dorigoni, gave Northwave the Under 23 Cyclocross title, by seeing off Daniel Smarzaro (CyberTeam) and Nadir Colledani (Trentino Cross).
In the previous days Northwave celebrated four more tricolore jerseys: Massimo Folcarelli, Carmine Del Riccio and Giuseppe Dal Grande among Masters and Eugenio Costalla among 1st year rookies.
