Selle Italia Guerciotti’s 22-year-old athlete was runner-up in Milan with Extreme XC shoes, Skeleton gloves and Extreme Tech Plus socks
Gioele Bertolini grazed the first cyclocross seasonal win at GP Mamma e Papà Guerciotti, in Milan’s Idroscalo, on Wednesday November 1st. Selle Italia Guerciotti’s 22-year-old athlete finished second in his home race, same result as in 2016 edition.
For the second year in a row, the German National Champion Marcel Meisen clinched victory in Milan, preceding the Italian Champion Bertolini - equipped by Northwave with Extreme XC shoes, Skeleton gloves and Extreme Tech Plus socks - and fellow German Sasha Weber.
After an early part of race characterized by Bertolini’s impressive breakaway, Meisen closed the gap over the Italian rider in style. The German rider launched the decisive attack in the final lap, crossing the finish line 8 second ahead of Bertolini. Another Northwave and Selle Italia Guerciotti rider, the U23 Italian Champion Jakub Dorigoni, placed eighth with Extreme XC.
