The Italian youngster equipped by Northwave beats the sprinters behind Lawless soloing to win stage 4 on Saumur’s finish line
Imerio Cima (Italy) grazed win in 54th Tour de l’Avenir’s stage 4, 166,6 Km from Derval to Saumur, in France, on Monday August 21st. The 19-year-old rider outsprinted the best rivals of U23 category, while Christopher Lawless (Great Britain) soloed to victory anticipating the peloton with a late attack. World Champion Kristoffer Halvorsen (Norway) completed the podium, whilst the opening stage winner, Kasper Asgreen (Denmark), retained the overall jersey.
Equipped by Northwave with Extreme RR shoes, the Italian rider grabbed the second podium spot in the 2017 Tour de l’Avenir, after the third place claimed in the opening stage, in Loudéac, on Friday August 18th.
Tomorrow, Tuesday August 22nd, the riders face the stage 5 of the most important U23 stage race. Cima can count on another chance to confirm himself as one of the best sprinters in the mix.
