First 2018 success for the Cuban sprinter of the Astana Women’s Team equipped by Northwave. Brennauer runner-up in Emakumeen Bira’s opening stage as Quagliotto grabs the lead in the Youth Classification. Canola grazes win in Tour of Japan’s prologue
Arlenis Sierra of the Astana Women’s Team, entirely equipped with Northwave Extreme RR shoes and the technical apparel designed and produced by the Custom Project atelier - conquered her first seasonal win in Tour of California’s last stage in Sacramento (United States), on Saturday May 19th.
The 25-year-old Cuba’s rider outsprinted USA’s Alexis Ryan and Emma White, whilst two more Northwave athletes, Australian’s Annette Edmondson and Macey Stewart (Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling) placed fifth and eighth respectively. Katie Hall conquered the overall win preceding Tyler Wiles (+29”) and Katarzyna Niewiadoma (+1’07”), as Mexican Carolina Rodriguez (Astana Women’s Team) finished sixth in the GC, +1’20”.
BRENNAUER RUNNER-UP IN EMAKUMEEN BURA’S OPENER
In the Basque Country (Spain), Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling’s Lisa Brennauer brought her Northwave Extreme RR shoes on the podium of the Women’s World Tour event Emakumeen Bura’s opening stage (Legazpi - Legazpi 108 Km.
The German athlete, 29, finished second, leading the chase group behind winner Sabrina Stultiens, ahead of two-time World Champion Giorgia Bronzini. Another Northwave rider, Italian Lara Vieceli (Astana Women’s Team), entered the day’s top-10, scoring ninth.
Brennauer occupies the overall second place, 22 seconds behind leader Stultiens, whilst Northwave topped the Youth Classification with Top Girls Fassa Bortolo’s rider Nadia Quagliotto.
CANOLA GRAZES WIN IN JAPAN
Nippo-Vini Fantini-Europa Ovini’s Marco Canola grazed the success in Tour of Japan’s opening prologue (Sakai-Sakai 2,6 Km). Equipped with Northwave Extreme RR, the 29-year-old Italian rider clocked a 3’13” time, 1 second behind winner, Brit Ian Bibby (3’12”). Third place for Oliver Wood with the same time of Canola.
